Frequently Asked Questions

The questions we get asked most about the moru web and desktop app. Can't find your answer? Ask on Discord.

QHow do I download a translation pack?+−
Find a pack in Browse packs, then pick the resource pack (.zip) or instance overrides (kubejs, ftbquests, and similar) format on its page. Downloads are free for everyone, no login required. The Windows installer for the desktop app is available on the download page.
QHow do I apply a downloaded pack to my game?+−
Resource pack format: put the .zip in the game's resourcepacks folder, enable it under Options → Resource Packs, then switch the language to Korean. Overrides format: script and quest translations (kubejs, ftbquests, and similar) are extracted over your modpack instance folder. Each pack page has a step-by-step install guide, and Guides covers launcher-specific instructions.
QWhat do I do when I find a mistranslation?+−
Press Suggest a correction on the pack page and submit the source text, the current translation, and your proposal. Once the uploader reviews and approves it, it ships with the next release, and approved corrections accumulate in the community glossary and translation memory, raising the quality of every future translation. A Discord login is required to suggest corrections.
QWhy is Discord the only login option?+−
Most modpack community activity happens on Discord, and never creating a separate password is safer for you. moru only receives your Discord ID, nickname, and avatar — no email is collected. See the privacy policy for details. Downloads work without logging in; a login is only needed for contributions like uploading, corrections, and voting.
QHow do I upload a pack I translated?+−
When you finish a translation in the desktop app, the last step lets you upload it in one click. If you already have a finished pack, you can also upload it directly on the upload page. Uploading requires a Discord login, and uploaded packs count toward the contributor leaderboard.
QHow do copyright and licensing work for translation packs?+−
The copyright of the source text — quests, item names, and so on — belongs to each mod and modpack author. By uploading, you grant moru and the community a non-exclusive license to your translations, corrections, and terms, so anyone can use, correct, and improve them together. See the terms of service for details. The moru app and web code are MIT-licensed open source.
QWhat changed since v2?+−
Up to v2, moru was a translation tool that ran only on your own machine. Today, moru is connected to the web community — one-click pack sharing, correction suggestions on the web with automatic merging, community glossary voting, a translation memory (TM) shared between packs, and local Ollama model support. The translate → share → correct → merge flywheel is the core. Read more in About moru.
QThe modpack I want has no translation yet.+−
Post the modpack name and version on the translation request board. Requests with more upvotes get picked up by translators first. If you want to translate it yourself, the desktop app gets you started in five minutes.
QWhere do I send questions?+−
The fastest place is the Discord community. For bug reports and feature requests, please open a GitHub issue. Privacy requests such as account deletion are handled through the same channels. All the links are collected on the contact page.
